Blue Safari, Mangroves

Watamu Marine Park

Morning departure from your resort. A full day aboard a glass-bottom boat with a wooden roof for sunbathing. We will arrive at the Watamu Marine Park, where you can snorkel (we will provide you with masks and fins) to admire the wonderful seabed of the Indian Ocean, populated by colorful fish and corals. We'll stop at Garoda Beach to sunbathe and swim in the crystal-clear waters, where three strips of sand emerge at low tide.

Waka Waka Island

We will enter a channel surrounded by mangroves to reach the famous Waka Waka Island for a lunch of fish, lobster, shrimp and coconut rice (for those who do not eat fish, we will prepare grilled chicken). After lunch, enjoy some relaxation and watch the traditional dances offered by the island's inhabitants. In the afternoon, our journey continues as we sail into the heart of the mangrove forest, where you can observe monkeys, herons, flamingos and storks in their natural habitat. We will return to the town in the late afternoon.

Gedi Ruins and Malindi Tour

The Ruins of Gede

The Gede Ruins are one of the few archaeological sites in Kenya, located 7 km from Watamu. The city of Gede is believed to have been founded by Arabs in the 11th century and then suddenly abandoned in the 18th century. Visiting the ruins will allow you to see what remains of them: the walls, three mosques, the sultan's palace and other houses. The remains are immersed in a forest of baobabs, quinines and sequoias inhabited by friendly monkeys that accompany visitors during the tour. Local legends and beliefs make the Gede ruins a magical place, impossible not to fascinate.

Malindi

Then we will continue towards Malindi. Here different cultures and religions coexist and mix. We will visit the new and old part to understand the rhythm and lifestyle of its inhabitants. Walking through the streets we will see the mosque, the colorful craft market, the historic center with the market for fruits, vegetables and everyday objects. We will also cross the new area with banks, nightclubs and shopping centers. The tour ends with a visit to the wood factory, where you can watch local artisans work with wood and shop for souvenirs.
