Marafa Hell’s Kitchen

Marafa Canyon, also known as the “Devil’s Kitchen,” is a surreal place where infernal temperatures have reached levels that led to the formation of the canyon. Depending on the time of day, it changes color. It is the largest depression in Kenya and attracts visitors precisely because of its surprising colors and its enchanting and, at the same time, disturbing
morphology...

Robinson Island

Robinson Island is about 40 minutes away from Malindi. Before arriving, you will follow an unpaved road over the salt pans, a place frequented by various species of birds, including ibis herons and pink flamingos. You will cross the lagoon in a canoe to reach the opposite bank, piloted by “Charon,” an African man who serenades tourists with several Italian songs...

Shimba Hills Safari Park

Shimba Hills National Reserve contains one of the largest coastal forests in East Africa, stunning landscapes, and a fascinating waterfall under which to refresh yourself. It is located in the Kwale district and is composed of tropical jungle, forests, and grasslands. It is the perfect way to break away from the monotony of safaris and take more time to enjoy the flora and landscapes that African nature has to offer...

Shimoni Wasini Excursion

Swimming, followed by a boat ride to Wasini Island, takes about an hour, leaving time for a delicious Swahili seafood lunch. Rice with fish or crabs, or both, potatoes, chapati, fruits, and vegetables, with soft drinks. Extras include lobsters and prawns, which you can buy directly at the restaurant. Afterward, relax by the seafront restaurant. If time permits, take an optional walk through the Wasini Muslim village to learn about its history...

Mombasa Tour

Blue Safari, Mangroves

Watamu Marine Park

Morning departure from your resort. A full day aboard a glass-bottom boat with a wooden roof for sunbathing. We will arrive at the Watamu Marine Park, where you can snorkel (we will provide you with masks and fins) to admire the wonderful seabed of the Indian Ocean, populated by colorful fish and corals. We'll stop at Garoda Beach to sunbathe and swim in the crystal-clear waters, where three strips of sand emerge at low tide.

Waka Waka Island

We will enter a channel surrounded by mangroves to reach the famous Waka Waka Island for a lunch of fish, lobster, shrimp and coconut rice (for those who do not eat fish, we will prepare grilled chicken). After lunch, enjoy some relaxation and watch the traditional dances offered by the island's inhabitants. In the afternoon, our journey continues as we sail into the heart of the mangrove forest, where you can observe monkeys, herons, flamingos and storks in their natural habitat. We will return to the town in the late afternoon.

Gedi Ruins and Malindi Tour

The Ruins of Gede

The Gede Ruins are one of the few archaeological sites in Kenya, located 7 km from Watamu. The city of Gede is believed to have been founded by Arabs in the 11th century and then suddenly abandoned in the 18th century. Visiting the ruins will allow you to see what remains of them: the walls, three mosques, the sultan's palace and other houses. The remains are immersed in a forest of baobabs, quinines and sequoias inhabited by friendly monkeys that accompany visitors during the tour. Local legends and beliefs make the Gede ruins a magical place, impossible not to fascinate.

Malindi

Then we will continue towards Malindi. Here different cultures and religions coexist and mix. We will visit the new and old part to understand the rhythm and lifestyle of its inhabitants. Walking through the streets we will see the mosque, the colorful craft market, the historic center with the market for fruits, vegetables and everyday objects. We will also cross the new area with banks, nightclubs and shopping centers. The tour ends with a visit to the wood factory, where you can watch local artisans work with wood and shop for souvenirs.

Respect the wildlife;

The best time to go on safari in Kenya is anytime between June to October. Travel in early September and you can almost guarantee that your trip will coincide with the famous wildebeest migration across the Masai Mara. That said, Kenya is brimming with wildlife throughout the year, so it's tough

What Time of Day is Best for Safari? Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best times to enjoy a game drive in a national park or private conservancy.

Packing for your safari to Kenya can be a daunting task. When preparing what to carry, you will have a lot of questions and one of them will be, “Can I wear shorts in Kenya?” You can wear shorts in Kenya but only in Private Spaces like your hotel room and in your tour van or car.

Don't be afraid to negotiate!

Whilst park fees, guide fees, and vehicle fees are non-negotiable, hotels and tour companies are often open for negotiation. Having a group of people (three or more) means you may have some bargaining power… if you don't ask you don't get!

1. Know When You Want to Go

Peak or High SeasonLow or Green SeasonBook up to 12 months in advanceAim to book 2-6 months in advanceCoolest and driest weatherWarmest and wettest weatherEasiest to find and see animalsMore challenging but rewarding to find and see animals

Tented Camps are generally considered the best for a true safari experience. Most luxury tented camps are small with between 5 and 20 tents. All tented safari camps feature, spacious canvas rooms with real beds and private, en-suite bathroom facilities

Dark colours attract Tsetse flies, so stay away from dark blue or black clothing – they have a painful bite! Now that you know what to wear, make sure you know how to pack. Most safari operators will ask that you only bring one suitcase, one overnight duffle bag, and one day pack.

Call animals. Don't whistle, call, or bang on the side of your safari vehicle to get the attention of an animal. ...Hog a sighting. ...Be a know-it-all. ...Get impatient with travellers. ...Don't listen to your guide.
