Robinson Island is about 40 minutes away from Malindi. Before arriving, you will follow an unpaved road over the salt pans, a place frequented by various species of birds, including ibis herons and pink flamingos. You will cross the lagoon in a canoe to reach the opposite bank, piloted by “Charon,” an African man who serenades tourists with several Italian songs.
Finally, you will arrive at Robinson Island, quite unique! After a beach walk and lunch, you will reach a beautiful restaurant decorated in a typical African style. Here, you will enjoy a tasty lunch made of oysters, clams, large crabs, rice with coconut sauce, prawns, salad, fruit, and African tea. After lunch, you can relax on a huge sun bed filled with maxi pillows. You will dedicate an entire day to this excursion.
